When it comes to unlocking the true potential of your Gen V LT engine, fuel flow limitations can be a major roadblock. Even with a larger camshaft fuel lobe, and a low side boost-a-pump, it doesn't take long before the stock mechanical fuel pump, injectors and low-side pump struggle to keep up with the fueling needs from ported blowers, more boost, bolt ons, and E85. Although the benefits of Direct Injection are clear, taking your LT4 from a stock 550rwhp to the all to common 850rwhp + requires an investment in fuel volume availability. Luckily, the bright minds at Katech and XDI have created some turn-key solutions to help us meet our goals, and have generated power levels over 1,400 horsepower on gasoline and 1,200 horsepower on E85 in Katech’s rigorous in-house testing using these part combinations. Assembling into a single turn-key package helps us pass on up to a $1,100 savings when purchased together, allowing you to invest in tuning, tires, and other support mods!

Goliath High Pressure Fuel Pump;

The Goliath HPFP pump is the result of Stanadyne’s dedicated to blend OEM reliability with he performance demands of the aftermarket. As a globally recognized leader in fuel system technology, Stanadyne brought its vast expertise to the table to make this project a success, despite the technical challenges. The desire for higher flow and pressure led Stanadyne to develop a larger volume, 350-bar-capable pump for high-horsepower applications. This second-generation design is externally analogous to the original LT4 pump, but is fitted with a larger 12-milimeter plunger, has important internal modifications, and can accept up to an eight-millimeter plunger stroke which allows it to deliver up to 2,100 mm3/rev at 350 bar using a three-lobe camshaft with up to an eight-millimeter plunger stroke.

The Goliath starts life as an LT4 pump (which is currently the highest flowing OEM HPFP in the industry) but boasts a 12mm bore size and up to 350-bar operating pressure, making it the perfect match for aggressive higher HP builds. Its improved spring design ensures performance even at extreme RPMs. Unlike OEM and competing pumps that can struggle to keep up, the Goliath’s enhanced volumetric efficiency means it can keep up with cam lifts up to 8mm. This sealed drop-in fuel pump module retains ALL FACTORY FUNCTIONALITY, including low-level fueling performance which no other solution on the market has. You can operate this fuel system on the road course with factory low-level fuel performance unlike the aux pump and unsealed module solutions currently on the market.

For those who may not know… XDI’s success on many DI platforms could not have been possible without its founder, Uwe Ostmann’s 25 extensive years in motorsports and DI development. Uwe’s journey started in 2001 when he joined the talented team at Bosch Germany in August 2001. Use spent many of those early years developing Diesel High Pressure Nozzles and overcame many challenges related to tuning a common rail based high pressure fuel system.

After leading the Audi Le Mans LMP1 project for four years including fuel system and controls development and developing several key technologies at Bosch Motorsport in Germany, Uwe came to Bosch Motorsport USA in July 2012.

XDI LT4 +70% Injectors are recommended for naturally aspirated (e.g., Nitro-Methane), low-RPM turbo applications, or centrifugal superchargers when combined with the LPE Big Bore pump or Katech Goliath. Important: The LPE Big Bore + LT4 +70% injectors will not meet fueling demands for setups with a 2650 TVS or Whipple blower on straight E85. In these cases, we recommend the XFP3200 + 70% injectors or supplemental fueling (methanol, PFI) around peak torque. Planning for more than 1,000rwhp?
