6th Gen. Fuel Pump Access Hatch
TAKING PRE-ORDERS NOW ONLY. PRODUCTS SET TO SHIP BY 7.15.25
By popular demand GMS brings you another simple solution to a long standing gap in the 6th generation Camaro aftermarket. The infamous back seat fuel pump access hatch is finally available for the 6th Generation ZL1. Although this style product is very popular on earlier Camaro generations, It is pretty clear why the aftermarket decided against offering a 6th generation variant once you see the sheet metals off-angle gradual tapper, which would make designing and building one that fit… a complete pain in the a**. Luckily, that did not scare us away from creating a turn-key solution to provide you the convenient in-tank fuel pump access the DIY’er’s like us need when upgrading or servicing their in-tank fuel pump.
Our solution is fairly straight forward, and geared towards the DIY’ers like me, who greatly dis-like the idea of jacking up the car, dropping the exhaust system, drive shaft, trans / diff coolant lines, and fuel tank…. while working on the garage floor, for an install, service, testing or adjustments. Having a friend who had to do that same process 5 times in 3 months due to issues with his fuel pump, was all I had to hear, in order to motivate me to help design this tricky part for everyone to benefit from. To think he could have saved over 20 hours of labor had he been able to simply raise the back seat, and remove our custom hatch with a few bolts in order to troubleshoot the issues he was having.
Sometimes being late to the party, is better than not showing up at all.
So if you have plans to upgrade your in-tank pump, or simply service the OEM pump, you may want to consider the convenience of installing this product in order to make every future service or upgrade, hours and hours faster of an endeavor.
Each access panel is laser cut and bump bended from .063” thick aluminum and treated to a DA sanded finish. Each panel also ships with a .25” thick foam weather strip tape applied to the perimeter of the panel to help seal any gaps between the two oddly shaped elements.
It’s taken me over 2 months and 5 design revisions to get this just right for my car, and I hope the fruits of my labor help safe you some grief, time and money on your next build!
