By popular demand, Griffin Motorsports is now offering a TURN KEY auxiliary fuel filter + fuel line connection kit bundle to help make things easier when connecting to the OEM fuel system lines. This is a MUST HAVE for those who are running upgraded Di Injectors, and want to protect your investment from harmful contaminents, and don’t want to clutter up the engine bay. Which was exactly the case that motivated us to create the custom bracket that would support the serviceable Racetronix fuel filter we wanted to use.

We chose this specific Racetronix filter housing for a few distinct reasons. 1: At only 5.5” long and approximately. 2” in diameter and equipped with -10 ORB high flow directional inlets and outlets this this filter body works double duty by being super compact yet high-flowing, which allows you the flexibility to use a wide range of fuel lines from -6 to -10 depending on your fuel volume needs. 2: Was the intelligent two piece case design allowing you access to inspect / clear or replacement the 10 Micron 304SS Filter Element with magnetic base.

For the bracket, it was important that we utilize the largest cavity under the car for easy access even when working off jack stands like me. We designed this bracket to perfectly contour the dimensions of this filter body, and utilizes OEM attachment points. The .063” aluminum bracket is lightweight, and treated to a durable satin wrinkle black powder coat and paired with SS clamp hardware.

Prior to finding our friends at DYME, our old fuel system consisted of durable VITON lined rubber hose, and quality AN fittings. For the year we tested this kit, it worked, but it left a lot to be desired. So when we saw the magical fittings the team at DYME has developed at PRI, along with a super flexible PTFE hose, it didn’t take long before we scrapped out kit, and redesigned it from the ground up. Why? because DYME’s patented quick connect fittings help eliminate adapters, reduce user installation error, are easier to install / service and hands down the best looking fitting on the market.

This combination delivers the cleanest, safest, highest-performance E85 plumbing option for the LT platform — without the bulk, smell, or degradation of rubber hose.

Here’s how I’d write those two sections in your GMS voice—technical, persuasive, and grounded in real-world consequences for high-performance LT builds.

Why This Matters

Upgrading your fueling need via larger Di injectors, or Port Injection, is one of the most critical steps in pushing your LT engine to the next level—but it also dramatically increases your system’s sensitivity to contamination.

Your factory fuel system was never designed to support the flow rate, duty cycle, and precision tolerances of high-flow DI injectors. When you step into larger injectors, higher ethanol content fuels, or increased fuel volume, you’re introducing more fuel—and more opportunity for microscopic debris to make its way into the most sensitive components in your engine.

That’s the problem this kit solves.

This system adds a high-flow, serviceable filtration stage upstream of your low side fuel pump, giving you protection where it actually matters—before contaminants can reach the injector internals. The compact, high-flow design ensures you’re not sacrificing fuel delivery while adding protection, and the clean integration keeps your engine bay looking like it belongs on a show car, not a science experiment.

Bottom line:
If you’ve invested in upgraded injectors, flex fuel, or higher horsepower levels—this isn’t optional protection. It’s part of a properly engineered fuel system.

Risks of Not Upgrading Your Fuel Filter…

Here’s the reality most people overlook… When you increase injector size and fuel demand, you’re not just increasing performance—you’re increasing risk exposure.

1. Injector Clogging (The Silent Power Killer)

High-flow DI injectors have extremely tight internal tolerances. Even tiny particles can disrupt spray patterns or partially block flow.

What that leads to:

• Lean cylinders

• Inconsistent AFR across the bank

• Loss of power and drivability issues

And the worst part? You often won’t see it immediately—it shows up as inconsistent data, not a clean failure.

2. Poor Atomization = Lost Power & Increased Knock

A compromised injector doesn’t atomize fuel correctly.

That means:

• Larger fuel droplets

• Reduced combustion efficiency

• Higher knock tendency (especially on E blends or high boost)

You’re literally leaving horsepower on the table—and increasing engine stress at the same time.

3. Accelerated Injector Wear (Shortened Lifespan)

Contaminants don’t just clog injectors—they erode them over time.

With higher fuel flow rates:

• More debris passes through the system

• Wear happens faster

• Expensive injectors degrade prematurely

You end up replacing injectors far sooner than expected—turning a $1,500–$3,500 investment into a recurring expense.

4. High-Pressure System Damage

On LT platforms, everything downstream of the low side matters:

• High-pressure fuel pump

• Injector internals

• Sealing surfaces

Contaminants can damage these components, leading to:

• Pressure instability

• Fuel delivery inconsistencies

• Costly repairs beyond just injectors

5. Increased Risk with Ethanol Fuels (E60–E85)

If you’re running ethanol blends (which most high-power LT builds are), this becomes even more critical.

Ethanol:

• Can carry more moisture and debris

• Tends to loosen deposits inside the fuel system

• Increases total fuel volume demand

That combination means more contamination moving through your system—exactly why additional filtration becomes essential.
