Every breakthrough at Griffin Motorsports starts the same way — with the belief that “good enough” is never good enough. We don’t wait for something to fail before we make it stronger. We chase the weak links, we study the data, and we refine the design long before anyone realizes it can be improved (at least that’s the goal). That relentless mindset is exactly what’s driving the next evolution of our Stage II Oil Cooler package — a bigger, smarter, harder-hitting system built for the guys who refuse to settle. The next chapter drops in May 2026. Stay tuned… the future of LT4 cooling is about to get a whole lot cooler.

Update from 4.27.26; Testing on our 1,000hp SHOP CAR, has been going very well! Preliminary data shows a noticeable improvement in temp reduction thanks to the larger oil cooler and increased flow evidence by the 15% pressure deduction achieved by using the larger -12AN lines. During a recent set of 45min test logs in 85-90F weather, the GMS Stage.II Oil Cooler Kit was shedding 30-40F+ of heat out of the oil at various stages of the drive. As hard as we tried, it was difficult to get the oil over 200F and even better, due to the fact this kit separates the oil and coolant, our engine coolant temps averaged 170F the entire test further reinforcing the benefits of going with an AUX Oil Cooler like ours.

Additionally, we have preliminary data from Track Only car that was previously using our Stage.1 oil cooler on a higher HP car, which brought peak oil temps down from 300F to 270F, but that was not enough. So after a full season we decided to swap out for our larger Stage.II cooler and on the next session temps dropped again down to 250-260F.

For this reason we are going to brand this is our “track” package and the Stage.I Oil Cooler will be designated “street”. Considering that we ran our Stage.I Oil Cooler on our 1,000hp Shop Car for over 3 years with no issues, we are confident in it’s ability to help keep you cool, and provides all the same benefits of separating the engine coolant and oil within the OEM oil cooler.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get data from TWO MORE dedicated track cars testing this kit soon, as well as our build up of inventory which includes the addition of DYME patented quick connect hoses and fittings! The final touch that will make this not only the best looking, best performing oil cooler on the market, but will make it the easiest to install and service of time. Cheers to going faster and staying cooler!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • That depends on your resources and experience. Example; single DIY’er with limited experience and working off jack stands, I could see this taking 3 full days start to finish. For a more experienced mechanic, using a lift, this could be installed in one day.

  • Unfortunately not. Due to the taller bar and plate cooler found in the Stage.II Oil Cooler, the top hoop of the crash bar needed to be lowered by 1” so they are different part numbers.

  • 100% would recommend installing a larger DMS main front HX at the same time as this oil cooler due to the access granted. For maximum supercharger cooling, we also suggest installing our DMS 2-Gallon fender tank to increase thermal mass, for better heat soak resistance. Other than that, for track cars we always suggest stepping up your lubrication game for the lowest oil temps by using DRIVEN Oil.

  • Thats a good question that depends on several factors. To start, we recently changed to DRIVEN OIL after watching THIS video. Follow the Driven Oil Link to our product page for more insight. Still unsure, feel free to email us info@griffin-motorsports.com‍  ‍

  • Not at all. I still have the Stage.II Oil Cooler on my street car now and it works amazing! Just note; it takes longer for the oil to get over 150F with this larger cooler so make sure you make sure oil is over 150F before you start beating on the car. Also, if you are in a very cold climate, we recommend our Stage.I Oil Cooler with thermostat.

  • Although we have not conducted a back to back comparison, feedback we have received from clients have revealed better temps with this larger cooler. Also, it allows you to retain your AUX cooler for engine coolant duties. Not to mention the High Flow opening of the crash bar that allows for better HX effectiveness. This things combined make this the best kit on the market.
