The Backbone of Your Valve-train.

Your camshaft doesn't make horsepower by itself, it relies on every component in the valve-train to transfer motion accurately and consistently. Among those components, few work harder than the pushrods. Every valve event, every RPM, every pound of valve spring pressure, and every horsepower your engine produces is transmitted through these seemingly simple rods, that often go overlooked.

That's why Brian Tooley Racing engineers their One-Piece Chromoly Pushrods to be anything but ordinary.

Manufactured from premium seamless 4130 chromoly steel and heat treated for exceptional strength, these pushrods are designed to resist flex, bending, and deflection under the extreme loads created by today's aggressive camshafts, high valve spring pressures, superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous, and sustained high-RPM operation.

Unlike inexpensive mild-steel pushrods that can flex under load, changing valve timing, reducing valve lift, and compromising valve-train stability, BTR Chromoly Pushrods maintain their rigidity, ensuring your camshaft profile is delivered to the valves exactly as it was engineered.

The result is a more stable valvetrain, improved durability, greater RPM confidence, and long-term reliability for everything from spirited street cars to dedicated race engines.

Why Pushrod Stiffness Matters

A pushrod may appear to be nothing more than a hollow tube, but under thousands of pounds of dynamic loading, even microscopic flex can affect engine performance.

A rigid pushrod helps:

  • Maintain accurate valve timing

  • Preserve designed valve lift

  • Reduce valvetrain harmonics

  • Improve hydraulic lifter stability

  • Reduce deflection at high RPM

  • Increase overall valvetrain reliability

  • Handle aggressive spring pressures with confidence

Simply put, a stronger pushrod allows every other valvetrain component to perform exactly as intended.

Features

  • Precision manufactured from premium 4130 seamless chromoly steel

  • Precision finished ends for proper rocker and lifter engagement

  • Heat-treated for maximum strength and durability

  • Compatible with hydraulic roller lifters

  • Excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio

  • One-piece construction

Available Lengths

To accommodate the wide variety of Gen. V LT engine combinations, Griffin Motorsports offers the following lengths in stock.

  • 7.850" (Part #PR7850375-16)

  • 7.875" (Part #PR7875375-16)

  • 7.900" (Part #PR7900375-16)

  • 7.925" (Part #PR7925375-16)

  • 7.950" (Part #PR7950375-16)

  • 7.975" (Part #PR7975375-16)

  • 8.000" (Part #PR8000375-16)

GMS Notes.

One of the most common mistakes during an engine build is assuming the required pushrod length. Changes such as cylinder head milling, valve jobs, aftermarket lifters, different camshaft base circles, rocker arm upgrades, or block decking can all affect proper valvetrain geometry.

We strongly recommend using a BTR Pushrod Length Checking Tool before ordering pushrods. Proper geometry improves rocker arm sweep, hydraulic lifter preload, valve guide life, and long-term reliability.

For maximum reliability, we recommend pairing your BTR Chromoly Pushrods, with our BTR Dual Valve Spring Kit, BTR OEM Rocker Arms with the TK002 Trunnion Upgrade, and ARP Rocker Arm Studs to create a complete, race-proven valve-train system capable of handling everything from daily driving to high-boost competition engines.

Note; our goal is to always keep these products in stock for quick ship, but some orders may need to drop ship direct from BTR.
