When you’re chasing big power on the LT4 platform, everyone knows the best bang for your buck is more boost. Although the easiest option may appear to be installing a smaller upper pulley, the logic fails under scrutiny. The problem with starting with the upper pulley is the reduction in belt wrap, and the failure to address crankshaft harmonics. Rather, we highly recommend you start your path to higher HP numbers by starting down low, by not only taking advantage of the amazing 6 pounds of weight savings, but the additional belt wrap provided by going with a larger lower pulley first!
That’s exactly why we pair the ATI 918856 Super Damper with DMS’s precision-machined overdrive lower pulleys: to create a synchronized, perfectly balanced front-drive system that can support anything from mild street builds to 1,000+ whp combinations without compromise.
The ATI 918856 is the gold standard for LT4 harmonic control. Unlike the OEM damper, built around a cast-in rubber isolator, the ATI unit uses a rebuildable dual-ring design with high-durometer elastomer technology. This dramatically improves torsional vibration damping, reduces crankshaft whip, and stabilizes valvetrain harmonics under heavy boost and high RPM. The result: smoother power delivery, reduced main-bearing wear, and a safer foundation for high-boost supercharger packages.
But the damper is just the start. This bundle lets you choose from four of DMS’s billet LT4 lower pulleys, each CNC-machined from high-grade aluminum with reinforced belt-tracking geometry to maximize grip and minimize slip:

ARP 234-2503 Crank Bolt – 12-point, heat-treated, ultra-high-tensile hardware delivering consistent clamp load and superior torsional retention. No more throwing away the cheap TTY one time use GM bolt. You can now re-use a superior bolt with confidence.
ARP 613-1750 Lower Pulley Bolt Kit – For customers who refuse to gamble on OEM hardware when running larger OD pulleys and higher harmonic load. We have actually heard of max-effort builds shear there front pulley bolts before they upgraded to ARP.
Together, this system transforms your LT4’s front drive from “adequate” to track-proven, eliminating slip, tightening harmonic control, and allowing you to safely extract every additional RPM your tuner demands.

Boost increase varies by pulley size, blower efficiency, and altitude, but most customers see +2–5 psi depending on configuration.
