Perhaps like you, I did not pay much attention to my spark plugs at first, but after talking with a few knowledgeable tuners, and other high HP enthusiast, the brand BRISK came up over and over again, so we decided to take a look.

After reading all of the technical bits below from Brisk it made sense to upgrade during the next oil change and we have not looked back since.

At our power level, we want to use the best spark plug available as cheap insurance to help us stay reliable, and make the most power possible.

Modified LT4’s demand ignition components that can withstand extreme conditions and deliver maximum efficiency, which is why Brisk Racing Silver Spark Plugs are an ideal choice for our supercharged cars. These plugs feature a silver center electrode, known for its superior thermal and electrical conductivity compared to traditional materials like copper or platinum. This results in a stronger, more consistent spark, improved throttle response, and more efficient combustion—all critical for modified, boosted and high-revving engines. Additionally, the silver construction resists fouling and maintains performance even under high-stress driving conditions, making them especially suited for the LT4. By using Brisk Racing Silver Spark Plugs, drivers can ensure their engines operate at peak performance with enhanced power, fuel efficiency, and reliability.

Running a colder spark plug helps improve combustion stability and reduce the risk of pre-ignition or detonation under increased cylinder pressures and elevated combustion temperatures. Colder plugs have a shorter insulator nose and dissipate heat more quickly to the cylinder head, keeping the firing tip cooler. This is crucial on LT4 applications where forced induction significantly raises the thermal load on the engine. By controlling plug tip temperatures, colder plugs help maintain reliable spark performance, prevent misfires, and support consistent power delivery—especially during sustained high-boost conditions.

From the Brisk website;

Brisk Silver Racing Spark Plugs have a smaller diameter silver core and conventional open spark hook type earth electrode give an outstanding performance in igniting high octane fuel mixture associated with alternative fuels like CNG, LPG, Propane, E85 blend, Alcohol, LNG, Race Fuels and Nitro.

Silver metal is the single best material for a spark plugs core electrode, as it can dissipate heat fast, resulting in overall lower spark plug temperature and a more powerful spark. Silver is the best conductor of any metal! It conducts 560% more electricity & 481% more heat than Platinum, and 276% more electricity & 177% more heat than Iridium.

The stronger the spark the faster and better the flame front and flame speed giving smother higher RPM range in engines.

The BRISK Silver Racing spark plug works well with most aftermarket and OEM ignition systems form simple coil and distributor through electronic ignition and powerful direct ignition systems found on modern port and direct injection performance engines.

Why Brisk Spark Plugs Matter For Performance Builds

At Griffin Motorsports, we know that every detail counts when pushing your build to its full potential — and spark plugs are no exception. Brisk Spark Plugs stand out for their precision engineering, consistent ignition, and ability to handle extreme performance demands.

Unlike standard plugs, Brisk designs theirs with high-output engines in mind. Whether you're working with a turbocharged setup, a supercharged LT4, or naturally aspirated power, Brisk plugs help maintain stable combustion under load. The result is improved throttle response, cleaner ignition, and stronger overall performance where it matters most — on the track or the street.

Because Brisk offers unique plug designs, such as surface discharge and silver core options, you get faster ignition times, better heat dissipation, and enhanced reliability during high-RPM operation. For those running advanced engine calibrations or aftermarket tuning, this level of spark control can make a noticeable difference in both horsepower and efficiency.

Brisk plugs aren't just parts — they're part of the performance equation.

Brisk Spark Plug Types: What You Need To Know

Choosing the right spark plug starts with understanding your engine’s demands — and Brisk offers a range of options built for different goals, from daily driving to all-out race builds. At Griffin Motorsports, we carry Brisk spark plug types that cater to enthusiasts looking for reliable power and precise ignition. Here's a closer look at the most common types and how they’re used:

Silver Spark Plugs

Brisk’s silver spark plugs are known for their extremely low electrical resistance, offering one of the fastest and most efficient spark deliveries on the market. Silver conducts electricity better than platinum or iridium, which means faster ignition and stronger spark under pressure. These are ideal for naturally aspirated engines and forced induction setups that demand reliable cold starts and consistent combustion. These are designed for maximum performance, not maximum miles between replacement.

Racing Spark Plugs

Designed specifically for motorsport applications, Brisk racing spark plugs are built with reinforced insulators and stronger ceramic materials to handle extreme heat and cylinder pressure. They're perfect for high-compression engines, nitrous setups, or boosted applications that run at the edge of performance limits. These plugs help maintain clean ignition and minimize the risk of detonation under wide-open throttle.

High Performance And Racing Spark Plugs

When you’re chasing horsepower, the smallest component can make the biggest difference — and spark plugs are no exception. At Griffin Motorsports, we recommend Brisk high performance and racing spark plugs because they’re designed to keep up with aggressive tuning, high boost, and track-level stress. Here’s why they matter in serious builds:

Ignition Strength That Matches Power Goals

High-performance engines run hotter, compress harder, and demand more precise ignition. Brisk plugs are built with advanced materials like silver or iridium to deliver strong spark even under cylinder pressures that would overwhelm standard plugs. This improves combustion stability, throttle response, and overall power delivery.

Heat Range And Durability You Can Count On

Racing engines generate extreme heat, especially in forced induction applications. Brisk plugs come in multiple heat ranges, letting you match the plug to your specific setup. Whether you're running ethanol blends, higher compression, or larger turbos, you’ll find a plug that resists heat soak and misfire — critical when you're running flat-out. That is why we keep both the RR14S and RR12S in stock. We used and suggest the RR14S between stock power levels and 700rwhp. After that we recommend the RR12S

Track-Proven Technology

Brisk racing spark plugs are trusted by performance shops, tuners, and motorsports teams around the world. Their construction supports clean, reliable spark at high RPMs, helping protect engines from detonation and providing the spark control needed for precise tuning. If your build sees dyno time or drag passes, this level of reliability isn’t optional — it’s necessary.

Why Brisk Spark Plugs Are A Smart Choice For Your ZL1

The Camaro ZL1 is already a beast from the factory, but if you're modifying it — even slightly — the stock spark plugs may not keep up. At Griffin Motorsports, we recommend Brisk spark plugs for ZL1 owners looking to extract more power, improve drivability, and support additional upgrades. Here’s how Brisk plugs support your build:

Made For Boosted Performance

Brisk Silver Racing spark plugs work great in OEM power applications, but really start to shine when boost and cylinder pressure rises. When you upgrade to our Kong XPORT performance packages we always recommend upgrading your spark plugs at the same time. Brisk spark plugs for ZL1 applications offer tighter tolerances and advanced heat control to handle these boosted setups. Whether you’re upgrading the LT4 supercharger or pushing more PSI, Brisk plugs reduce the risk of spark blowout and help maintain clean ignition.

Reliable Under Heat And Load

With increased cylinder pressure comes higher heat — and the ZL1’s aggressive tuning puts additional strain on spark components. Brisk plugs are built to manage this kind of abuse, offering improved combustion under load without misfire or premature wear. If you're also running ZL1 cooling mods, Brisk plugs are a natural complement to help keep temps and performance balanced.

Supportive Of Other Performance Mods

Whether you're adding more boost with one of our ATI + lower pulley bundles, tuning for ethanol using our HPFP + XDI Fuel Injector bundles, or monitoring with upgraded ZL1 gauges, spark quality becomes more important. Brisk plugs help ensure your ignition system can keep up with those upgrades, reducing misfires and supporting more efficient combustion.

Proven By Tuners, Backed By Performance Results

We’ve seen firsthand how Brisk spark plugs support dyno-tuned ZL1s and high-horsepower street builds. Their construction, heat control, and ability to ignite under pressure make them a solid choice for owners who take performance seriously. If you’re modifying your ZL1, Brisk plugs belong on your shortlist.

Pairing Spark Plugs With Other Performance Upgrades

Spark plugs don’t work in isolation — their effectiveness depends on how well they complement the rest of your build. At Griffin Motorsports, we help customers match the right Brisk spark plugs with supporting mods to maximize power, reliability, and efficiency. Here’s how they fit into the bigger picture:

Tuning And Forced Induction

Anytime you increase boost or modify engine timing, your plugs need to keep up. Brisk spark plugs are ideal for tuned engines running higher cylinder pressures, as they improve combustion and reduce the risk of spark blowout. Whether you're upgrading the tune alone or combining it with a new blower setup, a colder heat range plug from Brisk often delivers the spark strength your engine needs.

Upgrade & Save

Take advantage of that superior spark plug with a pair of upgrade Granatellti spark plug wire sets or save even more when you bundle with their 85k high performance ignition coils

Monitoring And Maintenance

As you push your build harder, proper monitoring becomes key. With our Banks iDash + AEM Wideband Bundle, you can keep an eye on AFR, timing, and temps — all areas where spark performance plays a role. Brisk plugs support this precision, helping to keep your engine running clean and consistent.
