Whether you’re chasing lap times, street dominance, or simply more visceral engagement behind the wheel, understanding the performance capabilities and possibilities of the ZL1 is where it all begins.

What Makes The Camaro ZL1 A Performance Standout?

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 isn’t just built for raw horsepower; it’s a well-balanced performance machine with track-ready engineering straight from the factory. Let’s take a closer look at the key components that set it apart and why it remains one of the most respected modern muscle cars on the road today:

Supercharged Powertrain

At the heart of the ZL1 is a 6.2L LT4 supercharged V8, producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This engine shares its DNA with the Corvette Z06, delivering explosive acceleration while remaining remarkably refined under normal driving conditions.

Advanced Suspension And Handling

With Magnetic Ride Control and a performance-tuned suspension, the ZL1 adapts in real time to changing road surfaces and driving styles. This system offers both comfort and agility, making it equally capable of carving through back roads as it is of powering down straightaways.

Track-Ready Aerodynamics

Wind tunnel-developed bodywork, including a front splitter, rear spoiler, and functional air extractors, helps reduce lift and increase downforce. These elements aren’t just for looks; they work together to keep the ZL1 stable at high speeds and during aggressive cornering.

Stopping Power That Matches The Speed

Brembo brakes, featuring six-piston front calipers, provide the ZL1 with serious stopping power. Fade-resistant and track-tested, these brakes ensure the car performs consistently even under heavy loads and extreme heat.

Driver-Focused Technology

Performance Traction Management, customizable drive modes, and an available data logger enable drivers to fine-tune the ZL1’s behavior according to conditions or personal preference. Whether on a daily commute or at a weekend track day, the technology works seamlessly in the background.

A Perfect Platform For More

While the ZL1’s factory performance is impressive, it’s also an ideal foundation for enhancement. At Griffin Motorsports, we work with drivers ready to push their ZL1s even further through expertly installed Camaro ZL1 performance upgrades that blend power with reliability.

Camaro ZL1 Horsepower: Stock Vs. Upgraded

The stock Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 offers 650 horsepower straight from the factory, an impressive figure by any standard. But for many performance enthusiasts, stock is only the starting point. The ZL1 responds exceptionally well to horsepower upgrades, opening the door to serious gains with the right modifications.

Factory Horsepower And Torque

Equipped with the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, the ZL1 delivers 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. That level of output propels the car from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 198 mph, all while remaining refined enough for daily driving.

How Much More Can You Get?

With performance tuning and hardware upgrades, achieving over 700 horsepower is easily within reach. Basic bolt-ons, such as cold air intakes and upgraded pulleys, offer modest gains. However, when paired with ZL1 tuning and horsepower upgrades from Griffin Motorsports, owners can achieve significant improvements without sacrificing drivability.

Griffin Motorsports Horsepower Packages

We offer tailored solutions for owners looking to push their builds beyond factory limits. Our Camaro ZL1 horsepower upgrade packages are dyno-tested, street-proven, and installed by performance specialists who know how to extract safe, repeatable power gains. We don’t just add parts, we build combinations that work in real-world conditions.

Balancing Power With Reliability

More power doesn’t mean more problems if it’s done right. That’s why ZL1 owners trust Griffin Motorsports for upgrades that maintain reliability while delivering measurable performance gains. Every component is carefully selected to work in harmony, from fuel system upgrades to engine tuning.

Performance Upgrades That Make A Difference

The stock ZL1 is no slouch, but true performance enthusiasts know that unlocking the car's full potential requires strategic upgrades. With the right combination of parts and expert installation, the Camaro ZL1 becomes a far more aggressive, responsive, and thrilling machine. Here are the upgrades that make a real impact:

Engine Modifications

Upgraded supercharger pulleys, high-flow throttle bodies, and ported blower snouts are just a few examples of how we help ZL1 owners achieve performance beyond stock levels. These upgrades improve airflow and boost efficiency, setting the stage for increased horsepower without compromising engine longevity.

Tuning The ECU

Custom tuning is where performance upgrades come together. Our 2024 Camaro ZL1 tuning services are tailored to each build, ensuring optimal air-fuel ratios, ignition timing, and boost levels. The result is not just more power, it’s a smoother, more responsive driving experience.

Exhaust System Enhancements

A performance exhaust isn’t just about sound; it improves flow, reduces back pressure, and adds power. From headers to axle-back systems, our Camaro ZL1 exhaust mods deliver both the aggressive tone and real-world performance gains ZL1 drivers want.

Cooling Upgrades

More power means more heat. High-capacity heat exchangers, upgraded radiators, and auxiliary cooling components help maintain safe temperatures during spirited driving or track use. Maintaining low intake temperatures is crucial for both power and reliability.

Suspension And Chassis Tuning

To handle the added horsepower, suspension upgrades such as lowering springs, sway bars, and bushings enhance traction and improve cornering stability. Paired with the ZL1’s already advanced chassis, these enhancements deliver a sharper, more confident ride.

Installation That Counts

At Griffin Motorsports, we do more than install parts. We guide our customers through the upgrade process, selecting components that work together and ensuring each build is optimized for performance, safety, and reliability. It’s not just about adding power, it’s about building a better ZL1.

Tuning The 2024 Camaro ZL1

Tuning The 2024 Camaro ZL1: What’s New?

The 2024 Camaro ZL1 remains one of the last true American muscle cars with factory supercharged power, and it’s also one of the most responsive platforms to tune. With refinements in GM’s ECU architecture and aftermarket support evolving quickly, ZL1 owners now have more flexibility than ever to extract meaningful gains through tuning.

Updated ECU Strategies

The 2024 model introduced subtle yet significant changes to the ECU. These updates enable more precise control over throttle response, boost, and timing, especially when paired with performance software designed specifically for the latest calibration. At Griffin Motorsports, we stay ahead of these updates to ensure our 2024 Camaro ZL1 tuning services are fully compatible and safe.

Remote And In-House Tuning Options

Whether you’re local or across the country, our tuning solutions are tailored to fit your setup. We offer remote tuning support for modified ZL1s using proven tuning platforms, as well as in-house dyno tuning for those who want precise, real-time calibration. Every tune is customized based on your build, no cookie-cutter files.

Performance Gains Without Sacrifices

Smart tuning optimizes power delivery while maintaining drivability. By dialing in the right fuel and timing maps, we help ZL1 drivers gain horsepower and torque across the entire RPM range, not just peak numbers. You’ll feel the difference in throttle response, mid-range power, and overall engine smoothness.

Backed By Experience

Our team has tuned countless ZL1 builds, and we bring that knowledge into every project. From mild bolt-ons to aggressive, full-package builds, we know how to push the limits safely and when to pull back to protect your investment.

Camaro ZL1 Exhaust Mods: Worth The Investment?

For many ZL1 owners, the stock exhaust system sounds good, but not great. It's controlled, refined, and reserved for a car with this much power under the hood. That’s where exhaust upgrades come in. The right setup transforms both the sound and the performance of the vehicle, making Camaro ZL1 exhaust mods one of the most popular and worthwhile upgrades we install.

Sound That Matches The Power

A ZL1 should sound like it performs, aggressive, throaty, and full of attitude. Upgraded exhaust systems enhance volume and tone, allowing the supercharged V8 to breathe (and roar) the way it should. From deep idle growls to crackling downshifts, a modified exhaust brings out the car’s true personality.

Improved Flow And Power

Beyond sound, performance exhaust components reduce backpressure and improve exhaust scavenging. This helps the engine exhale more efficiently, which can lead to modest horsepower gains, especially when paired with other upgrades, such as tuning and intake modifications.

Custom Systems For Every Setup

At Griffin Motorsports, we offer everything from cat-back systems to long-tube headers and X-pipes, tailored to your ZL1’s build and performance goals. Whether you’re looking for a refined tone or track-ready volume, we’ll help you choose the right combination for your needs.

Street-Ready And Track-Approved

We focus on systems that strike a balance between performance and compliance. That means clean welds, high-quality materials, and the right sound levels for your intended use, street, strip, or both. Our goal isn’t just to make your ZL1 louder; it’s to make it better.

STAGE.I Super-Charger Cooling Package
Sale Price: $2,500.00 Original Price: $2,850.00

It is widely known that OEM super-charger cooling system on 6th generation Camaro ZL1's is inadequate. Even in stock form, the OEM system has a hard time keeping IAT's cool in hot climates or racing conditions. This problem is exponentialy worse once you start turning up the boost, leaving little time before your ECM starts to pull timing which leaves a lot of power on the table, instead of at the tire where it belongs.

Griffin Motorsports takes a multi-stage multi-faceted approach to this solution making sure we have a cost-savings package for every budget and power level.

Our Stage.I solution starts with the most popular front HX on the market for 6th gen. Camaro's. This custom DMS designed and CSF built beauty not only increased the size of the HX but also increased its efficiency through the use of CSF's B tube technology and ultra efficient multi-louvered fins. As you may have already figured out, upgrading to a high flow coolant pump is useless if you have major system restrictions like factory heat exchangers. DMS helped alleviate these restrictions and added flexibility with the addition of -12ORB inlet/outlet fittings. This allows the end user to choose the inlets/outlet size of either -12an (3/4 Inch) or 3/4 Hose barb much like OEM.

Not only is this CSF built beauty more efficient and more durable than OEM but combined with the 2 gallon fender tank this set also holds approx. 2,150% more fluid than the OEM HX. (43 cups vs 2 cups).

With the much larger and more efficient main HX in place, the next step to lower IAT's is adding more volume to the system which makes the coolant temp much slower to raise temps and much faster to decrease them. This DMS designed and built coolant expansion tank not only adds 2 gallons of additional coolant capacity, but it allows you to fill and bleed the system with incredible easy with the addition of a 1.5" Filler cap and the included funnel that aids in filling the tank through the fender opening. This additional volume will not only help keep intake air temps lower but it will also allow air to escape the system making the system more efficient overall. Like many of you have seen or experienced yourself, the OEM coolant system is sealed, and can be very hard to bleed all of the bubbles out of the system. Matt and the team at DMS were one of the first on the market with this design, and we are excited to be able to add this to our cooling packages.

The DMS fender tank is constructed out of durable .125" aluminum, expertly tig welded in house and powdered coated in a satin black finish. It features -12 ORB inlet/outlet barbs with -12an ORB fittings allowing you to run 3/4” hose or upgrade to AN lines and fitting. Cost includes a pair of pre-made -12an feed and return lines along with all hardware for trouble free installation.

Rounding out the parts list is our signature High Flow Impact Bar which not only provides a clear view of your new massive DMS heat exchanger for a clear aesthetic improvement, but also the improvement in airflow. Adding to this innovative patent pending design is a pair of custom two-piece CNC’d aluminum air deflectors that help prevent air from trapping at the bolt flanges. Rather, they channel to either the main or auxiliary coolers. Outfitted with a heavy duty front tow hook coupler and treated to a matte black powder coated finish, this product was design to offer a turn-key solution to improve a poorly designed OEM part. This product ships with installation instructions and hardware. Although this product was literally designed in the garage, this 3D modeled assembly is fabricated using precision laser cut parts for a professional fit. Note: This package ships in (3) separate boxes.

What’s in the boxes:
