When we were planning the H/C package on our GMS SHOP CAR back in 2022, one thing stood out immediately, we wanted the engine bay to scream performance as loud as the blower whine. Although GM did a great job at providing the platform we now get to tinker with, they left a lot on the table by way of engine bay aesthetics. Luckily our friends at Katech had exactly what we wanted. A modern take on an old-school style cast aluminum valve cover that is not only a blank canvas for the color and sheen of your choice, but best of all, designed exclusively to support there award winning high-mount coil relocation kit!
After seeing this combination on a few Z06’s it was clear this was a must have for our build. We took all that Katech had to offer and took it a step further by swapping out the OEM coil package for the sleek Granatelli’s 85KV Malevolent coil packs, Katech’s custom length wires, and some upgraded ARP 12-point SS hardware to round out the package allowing you to not only stand out from the crowd with ONE CLICK, but help you save nearly $300 when purchasing as a bundle!
Katech’s cast aluminum valve covers are not just a flashy upgrade, they are engineered for rigidity, thermal stability, and long-term sealing. A major upgrade over thin OEM stamped covers. The increased wall thickness minimizes cover flex under crankcase pressure, reducing oil vapor leakage which helps improve gasket life. The raised design of the cover facilitates the use of aftermarket valvetrain components such as larger springs and rocker arms.
