The BTR89016, an equivalent to GM 12589016, retains the camshaft in its proper axial position and seals the front oil passages behind the timing cover. Its integrated sealing material helps keep pressurized oil where it belongs—inside the engine’s lubrication system.
Replacing the plate during a camshaft swap refreshes this important seal while the timing assembly is already accessible. Our kit also includes four Chevrolet Performance 11561455 countersunk cam retainer bolts, providing the matching hardware for installation.
