We all know arriving fashionably late to the party comes with risks, but in the world of aftermarket performance parts, that’s not always a bad thing. In fact, it can be the perfect opportunity to step back, observe the competition—what works, what doesn’t—and then innovate where others fall short. And that’s exactly what Matt and the team at DMS did with this stunning blend of engineering and ingenuity.

Let’s face it: Many of the current options for the LT4 lid are… lackluster, at best. Too often, aftermarket solutions are either overly simplistic or downright unattractive. All relevant client feedback that DMS took into account, knowing they could do better.

Instead of aiming low and breaking the lowest price barrier, they aimed high, and set their sights on breaking the mold. The mission? To create a lid with one clear set of goals: Optimizing airflow, in the best looking package on the market. That’s where Verus Engineering’s genius came into play.

With all of the knowledge and high tech equipment on hand, Verus’s airflow simulations quickly revealed that if this lid was going to outperform the competition, it needed more than just a tweak here and there—it needed an entirely unique, sculpted design that catered to the needs of airflow dynamics, not one that catered to being simple and flat. The lid needed a design that would only be possible with an upgraded process and equipment. And so, they cut Verus loose to utilize their amazing $650K DMG Mori 5-axis CNC machine to bring this vision to life. The result? A complex, yet beautiful shape designed to channel and balance nearly perfect airflow into each intake runner, providing smoother air distribution.

What you will quickly notice once you receive your LID is the extra height. Approx. .25” taller than OEM and nearly 1/2” taller than the leading competition which results in approximately 25% more plenum volume which provided Verus the space needed to create that elegant curved profile. For those of you with port-plates, I tested hood clearance using my GMS High Flow Hood Bracket and I still had 1.2” of clearance. Adding to the long list of benefits, is the weight reduction. For those counting every last pound saving, you’ll be happy to know that this lid was recently designed to shave a few more pounds, which has it down to 6.7lbs which is 4.3lbs lighter than OEM.

While many competitors take the easy route, using flat designs cut on simpler 3-axis machines to keep costs low, the DMS lid takes a more refined approach. It’s crafted from a solid 70lb piece of 6061 aluminum bar stock, meticulously machined on a state-of-the-art, 5-axis CNC machine, demanding more time, more material, and, of course, more performance. The payoff? A stronger, larger, and higher-performing part that adds just the right amount of supercharger whine, while delivering an eye-catching, show stopping design like nothing else on the market. This lid was designed for those who want to stand out from the crowd by putting the very best on there car.

Although Billet lids should be seen as a cosmetic mod and for additional blower whine: On a stock 2018 CTS-V, DMS saw a healthy 20hp gain across the entire RPM range—proof that innovation pays off, and a strong focus on form, can transform into improved function. Which is why the DMS Billet Lid, is the Griffin Motorsports LT4 Lid of choice. Stay tuned for more testing results on our 900hp ZL1.

Fitment: 16+ CTS-V + 17+ ZL1 Camaro + C7 Z06 + Cadillac CT5 Blackwing

*Will not work with CTS-V or ZL1 strut bar without spacers.

*C7 Z06 may need to modify or remove the hood liner to fit..

*New lid hardware included. Reuses GM green o-ring around the perimeter.

Note: The finish in the top of the LID shown is slightly more matte than comes out of the box. After test fitting my lid, I saw a few small blemishes so I decided to buff out the entire lid with a polish compound. The lid comes a little more reflective than you see in the photos. Although you can’t really tell from the photos, I wanted to be transparent.

Long story short, you will LOVE this lid, as it is easily the best looking lid currently available for the LT4 engine.

Why The LT4 Supercharger Lid Matters

The LT4 is a strong platform right out of the box, but when you're chasing max efficiency, weight savings, better looks and more whine, the stock components start to show their limits. Which is what the team at DMS and Verus Engineering set out to maximize. Here's why upgrading your LT4 supercharger lid matters.

The Problem With The Stock LT4 Supercharger Lid

The factory LT4 lid looks functional, but under the surface, it's a weak link in an otherwise capable system. It's not just about how it flows; it's how it fails to support power, cooling, and allowing all the sweet whine to sign, at the level most enthusiasts demand. Here's where the OEM lid falls short:

Restricted Blower Whine

The factory lid is actually designed to muffler the sweet supercharger whine that people will spend so much money to increase. Swapping out that thick, heavy, sound-deadening OEM supercharger lid for a much thinner and lighter GMS billet supercharger lid for your LT4 is the easiest mod you can make to allow more of that sweet supercharger whine to resonate.

Airflow Matters

The stock lid is just what you would expect from an OEM. Ugly, rough cast, and lacking a center airfoil to help split and smooth the air path from the rotorpack output, up, over and down into the cooling bricks. This lack of airflow guidance can create unnecessary turbulence inside the blower. The team at Verus engineering utilized CFD in order to best balance the airflow path onto the bricks more evenly and with less turbulence than the OEM lid resulting in more power.

Heat Soak Kills Performance

Under aggressive driving, intake air temps climb fast. The OEM lid being as thick and heavy as it is holds a lot more heat, and is much harder to cool down than the much thinner and lighter billet aluminum options. Once heat-soak sets in, the ECM starts pulling timing, and your power fades quickly. Anything we can do to keep the intake charge cool, will help the bottom line.

Benefits Of Upgrading To Griffin Motorsports' Billet Aluminum LT4 Supercharger Lid

Swapping your stock lid for our upgraded version isn't just about chasing numbers; it's about enhancing your driving experience. It's about solving real-world performance issues and unlocking the full potential of your LT4. Here's what sets the DMS LT4 supercharger lid upgrade apart from the rest of the competition. :

Supercharger Whine

The factory lid is actually designed to muffler the sweet supercharger whine that people will spend so much money to increase. Swapping out that thick, heavy, sound-deadening OEM supercharger lid for a much thinner and lighter DMS billet supercharger lid for your LT4 is the easiest mod you can make to allow more of that sweet supercharger whine to resonate.

Improved Air Distribution

Verus Engineering reshaped the internal airflow path to reduce turbulence and promote even cylinder distribution. This helps prevent lean conditions in rear cylinders and keeps the engine safer under hard acceleration or increased boost.

More Volume For More Power

The lid adds internal volume, which smooths the pressure curve inside the blower. That leads to better throttle response and makes it easier for the engine to maintain power across the entire rev range.

Eye Candy

For those who want their engine to LOOK as good as it performs, the DMS Billet Supercharger LID for your Camaro ZL1, Corvette Z06, CTS.V and CT.5 Blackwing. Being the only LT4 supercharger lid to be made on a 5-axis CNC machine, the DMS Billet Supercharger LID is clearly the best look option available, and will soon be the focal point of your engine bay!

Key Features Of Our LT4 Blower Lid Upgrade

CNC-Machined For Precision Fit

Each lid is machined from billet to exact tolerances. That means a perfect fit on every install, no trimming, forcing, or guesswork. It’s built to bolt on and perform. Being the only LT4 supercharger lid to be made on a 5-axis CNC machine, the DMS Billet Supercharger LID is clearly the best look option available, and will soon be the focal point of your engine bay!

Optimized Internal Flow Path

We reworked the internal geometry to reduce restriction and promote clean, even airflow. No sharp turns or airflow choke points, just smooth volume and efficient direction from inlet to cylinder.

Larger Plenum Volume

By increasing internal volume, we improve air charge distribution and reduce pressure drop. That added space helps with throttle response and allows more room for boosted air to fill before entering the heads.

Improved Cooling Surface Area

The lid is designed to shed heat faster than the thick cast OEM unit. Although we use thicker material in critical zones, the overall thinner lid saves alot of weight, This helps it resist heat soak and keep temps in check under sustained load.

Optimized Air Path For Intercooler Efficiency

By reshaping the internal path, we direct airflow across the intercooler core more evenly. This allows the charge air to spend more time in contact with cooling surfaces, dropping intake temps more effectively compared to the stock design.

Consistent Cylinder Temps

Uneven airflow in the stock lid often leads to hotter rear cylinders. Our lid balances distribution, helping maintain more consistent temperatures across all banks. That means smoother performance and reduced chances of detonation at higher boost levels.

Compatibility And Installation

We designed this lid to work with real-world builds, no cutting, welding, or mystery fitment. Whether you're running a mild bolt-on setup or a fully built LT4, our LT4 supercharger lid upgrade installs clean and fits like it belongs there.

Direct Fit For Factory LT4 Superchargers

Our lid bolts directly onto stock LT4 blowers with no modifications required. It’s compatible with factory gasket profiles, OEM sensors, and existing intercooler bricks. If your setup runs an LT4 blower, this lid will fit it.

Works With Popular Mods

Running a smaller pulley? Larger throttle body? Port Injection? No problem. This design clears and complements common LT4 upgrades without clearance issues or added installation headaches.

Straightforward Installation Process

If you’ve pulled a blower before, you can handle this install. Everything lines up out of the box, and we include all necessary hardware. Most customers can complete the install in just a few minutes with standard tools and a torque wrench.

Clean Factory Look With Upgraded Performance

We kept the design sleek and purposeful, aggressive where it counts, but subtle enough to blend in with an OEM-style bay. You get a serious performance increase without compromising fit or finish.
